This week we are going to the far west of Singapore.
Beside Frontier CC or Jurong West Public Library
Nearest MRT: Boon Lay
This entire playground uses rope as it’s main feature. There are no slides but pure climbing structures that help the kids in balancing, gross motor skills and spatial awareness.
There are structures that allow the kids to climb to the top, or structures that allow them to cross horizontally to the other side.
Apart from my boy, I have seen a lot of other kids who enjoyed “swinging” on the ropes.
We were there on a Saturday late afternoon. The place was slightly crowded with about 10+ kids playing. However a group left and there were only 4-5 kids left. And around 15 minutes later, the crowd started to build up again. Hence I will say this playground is pretty crowded on weekends with occasional thinning.
As the playground is meant for older kids, it meant that it can get a little rowdy as the older kids are very likely unaccompanied by adults. Kids being kids, you know how they behave when they think no one is watching.
As the playground is make up mainly of ropes, it appears rather clean and well maintained. I will give it 4 out of 5.
I would say this playground is for older kids. Maybe around 4 years and above. We brought Zai here when he was younger but all he could do was the horizontal crossing ropes and swinging. But now that he is 4 months shy of 4 years old, he is able to conquer most of the structures with some help from us.
I would also highly recommend all parents of the younger kids to stay near them when they play.
This playground is just right at the front of Jurong West public library. So the entire family can visit the library before or after play.
Jurong Point shopping mall is just across the road from the playground. You will be spoilt with food choices as there are 4 foodcourts within the mall!
Hope you have enjoyed the series thus far and found it useful. Do feel free to leave me a comment.
